What life really boils down to

Someone just sent this to me and I thought it was brilliant.

Life really boils down to one of two questions…

Should I get a dog?

My first #1 Google ranking: YouTube wombat.

If you know me, I’m sure you’re surprised icon smile My first #1 Google ranking: YouTube wombat. .

Funny fact – my blog ranks #1 on Google for “YouTube Wombat.” Not sure why, but I AM a wombat fan and I have used the word YouTube on this blog quite frequently so I guess there is some method to this madness. To make sure that Google doesn’t change its mind and demote me, here’s my official wombat YouTube blog.

It’s an undisputed fact (Try to dispute it, I dare you! Ain’t gonna work!) that wombats are the coolest animal on the planet. They’re followed closely by tigers, penguins and dogs, but they are in no danger of any animal surpassing their amazingness and cuteness. I’ll do a Wombats 101 post later. For now, let’s focus on these beauties’ YouTube career so that Google stays happy and rewards me with other #1 searches.

What are the odds? The first wombat video I found is narrated by Polish people! How cute is this little guy?

Someone did all the hard work for me and put together a wombat playlist. Check it out.

Following on my previous post about the dramatic chipmunk, here’s dramatic wombat.

Here’s a wombat in its natural state – on the ground, half asleep, digging. Unfortunately the author of this video disabled embedding so you have to follow this link to see the video.

No YouTube wombat post would be complete without some tribute a band called The Wombats.

I hope you have enjoyed this YouTube wombat journey and that you find something else on the blog that you like as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Pole dancing bear

A friend just sent this to me and I had to put it up. Animals are so much funnier than humans, not to mention cuter!

I give you the Pole Dancing Bear!

Dramatic Chipmunk and his animal friends

During my YouTube Odyssey yesterday I watched the infamous Dramatic Chipmunk video. I didn’t realise how many dramatic friends he had! Among them are Dramatic Cat, Dramatic Dog, Dramatic Chicken, Dramatic Chihuahua, Dramatic Lizard, Dramatic Toad, not to mention his most dramatic friend, Dramatic Lemur. It’s scary how easily amused I am when it’s raining and YouTube becomes the main source of entertainment…

Here’s the original Mr. Dramatic Chipmunk:

Cheetah Conservation

The fastest animal on land (and one of the most beautiful!) is one of the most endangered. The Cheetah Outreach program in South Africa’s Stellenbosch region is one organisation doing its part to protect these stunning animals. Last year in October I was lucky enough to pay a visit to Spier wine farm, where the outreach is located. We got to experience a short cheetah encounter, which was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.

In addition to breeding cheetahs, Cheetah Outreach also breeds Anatolian Shepherd Guard dogs. These dogs are experienced cattle herders and they aid farmers in protecting their livestock from becoming cheetah food. By supplying the puppies to farmers, Cheetah Outreach ensures that cheetahs will be chased away by the dogs instead of being shot by the farmer. Pretty good solution, don’t you think?
